On October 10th, 2016, the Angel of the Lord saw a perfectly bloomed flower and felt at that moment God needed it to finish his bouquet. God spoke to Elder Ward, “Your members and your family are up here waiting for you. Come, see about them.” Junior Lee Ward was born to Theodore Ward and Narthelia Tolbert on March 27, 1931 in Kilgore, Texas. He was educated in the Kilgore public school system where he completed the 12th grade. He enlisted in the United States Army, however was not satisfied, he felt it was a Girl Scout Camp. Therefore, in 1950, Junior Ward changed branches and enlisted in the United States Marines. He served in the Marines from 1950 to 1952 and he was honorably discharged. He moved to California and settled in Riverside in 1955. Junior was a good timer, and loved to party. Junior was working in Chino making airplane parts, he began to lose strength all over his body and was unable to hold things in his hands. He went from doctor to doctor and no one was able to diagnose his problem. Finally, the last doctor to see him was able to diagnose his condition, unfortunately it was one month too late. The doctor wrote a letter and sent Junior to the VA Hospital in Long Beach, California. The condition was MYA STENIA GRAVIS. In December 7th, 1957 Junior died, he always said “I died graveyard dead. With the doctors still working on me. First He took me to hell, then He took me to heaven!” When Junior came back to life the doctors said “we ran out, but someone UP THERE took over.” He accepted the Lord in 1958, after a long illness at the Veterans Hospital, in Long Beach, California, under Pastor Ester Mallet. In 1960, after being discharged he settled in Riverside under Pastor C. J. Blake’s, Pentecostal Church of God in Christ. He was in prayer at one of the Mother’s houses when the Lord called him to the ministry. In 1961, Elder Floyd Lang told Minister Junior Ward that he would become his assistant pastor, Junior then asked “how could I be someone’s assistant pastor when I belong to someone else’s church?” In 1962, Junior moved to Fontana, and then became Elder Lang’s assistant pastor, at Macedonia C.O.G.I.C in San Bernardino, there he remained faithfully until he was called in1968 to pastor his own church. He was ordained by Bishop Samuel Crouch in 1964, in Los Angeles, California. In June of 1964, he met Carolyn Cleveland, of Detroit, Michigan and on August 8th, 1964 they were joined in holy matrimony, at Canaan Temple C.O.G.I.C in San Bernardino, CA under M.L. Williams. They were blessed with two children, Sherrie Alisa Ward and David Christopher Ward. In 1967, while in the hospital, Elder Ward heard the call to open his own church. After talking to his Pastor, Elder Lang, he told him to do as the Lord told him. On July 14th, 1968, Trinity Mission Church of God in Christ was born! The Lord really blessed the Church, it was named ‘The Trauma Center’ by Brother Maurice Williams. People would come with all types of problems, but left BLESSED, HEALED AND DELIVERED.
